Majors - Cameron Roberts

As a junior in high school, I want to go to MIT and study Business Management and Electrical Engineering. I don't know if I want to double major or have one minor and one major. These two areas of study come together and can create several interesting jobs.

.
1. Private Business Owner
- The pay for this job can be anywhere from $25,000 to $150,000. The skies the limit and it depends how well your business is doing and in what field.
- The salary differs between the area of business and the service or product you are selling. If you own a fish company, you would want to have your business near the fish. The same goes for some sort of electrical engineering business.
- Being a business owner requires an MBA to be a respected business owner. Also, a person should probably have four years of college and an undergraduate degree.
- To be able to be in that position, you need to be a leader and have excellent people skills. You also need to know how to delegate well and keep business running smoothly.
2. Electrical Engineer
- The salary for being an electrical engineer is usually between $50,000 and $85,000. Their salary is usually higher than most other jobs.
- The best salary for an electrical engineer is most likely found in Silicon Valley. That is where the technological revolution is happening and it is the best place to be an electrical engineer.
- To be an electrical engineer, someone should have a degree in electrical engineering and have experience in the field.
- You should be able to figure out how systems work and be able to create them yourself. You should have a knack for building things or figuring out how they work.
3. Electrician
- The salary is somewhere between $30,000 and $80,000. It can be a very lucrative position.
- There would be a higher salary and more job opportunities in a rural area.
- You should have a degree in the field in order to secure a job.
- You should have electrical engineering skills.

  1. I would love to be a small business owner as well but I disagree that you need a MBA to be successful. Many small businesses blow up and become very successful without even going to college.

  2. Thorough research, however I am going to have to agree with Andy on starting a business. Though having acquired an MBA is outstanding, starting a business early is important I order for to give it the time to mature.
