Week 2

So far my internship has been going very well. I am learning new things everyday and implementing things I have learned from past days to better my understanding of new topic and material. This week I believe I used honesty to help me out as one of my key work readiness skills. At certain times while going over new material quickly, I asked to backtrack so I would understand the material instead of just having to guess and play catch up for the following days. This really helped me because I was able to understand the idea and terms quickly just by asking for help rather than trying to figure it out on my own. The second skill I used was communication. My boss mentioned he would be going away for part of this week due to the fourth of July coming up, but I could not remember the dates that he had told me. Thankfully I sent him both an email and a text, he said that would be fine, and cleared up the schedule. If I had not done so I would have missed my internship today, so that was good that I reached out to him.
My diligence however held me back in the workplace because I found myself off task at times or sitting around when I could have been reviewing things I had just learned. Because I ended up falling behind in my schedule, I was forced to learn some things quicker than I wanted to and because of that my understanding of them is not as sharp and clear as it needs to be.
