Week 3

I am planning on going to college and there are several different social science majors I would be interested in. Particularly, Political Science and Government. Jobs related to this are a Foreign Service Officer, a Legislator, or a Public Administrator. I think I would fit the personality it takes to have these jobs because I am interested in politics and want to have the authority to make changes. I especially think being a Foreign service officer would be interesting so that I can travel. A Foreign Service Officer requires a bachelors degree and pays 193,000 dollars per year. Being a legislator requires no degrees and it usually pays 106,000 dollars per year. Being a public administrator requires a bachelors degree in public administration and pays 66,000 dollars per year. I don't know if this is before or after taxes, though and I would imagine these salaries have a lot of variation.

  2. I like the fact that you want to make a difference through government. It seems like an excellent pick for your career.

  3. Poli sci seems interesting to me too, but I am worried that it's not the most lucrative field to go into.
