I am grateful that I got the opportunity to take this class and to have this internship. It kept my summer busy but not too busy and as a result I learned learned a lot of useful skills in marketing, advertising, and event planning and I learned about what its going to be like to be a working adult.
As for my internship I'm so happy that I was allowed to be as involved as I was. I was trusted with many tasks and my opinion was often asked. I learned how to work in Wordpress and Constant Contact. I'm so lucky that I got to have such a hands-on internship.
During the class I really enjoyed learning more about myself from the Waybook activities and discoveries. I discovered that I value relationships, leisure, and I'm very curious about the world. I also thought that the financial planning exercises were very helpful and eye opening in realizing how much it costs to live.
The technical skills and career readiness skills I learned in class really transferred over into my internship. My internship required a lot of online work so using Google sites and learning how to save things as pdfs was really helpful. Although I think I already had many of the career readiness skills down, I could really see myself improving on being professional and being able to communicate more effectively each time I came to class or went to my internship.
I am very thankful I was offered this opportunity to learn such great skills and prepare me for being an adult. Not everyone gets to do this!
