Work Readiness Skills

Hello Everyone,

This week at my internship I did a good job at communicating effectively. My boss and I set up a schedule together. I made a mistake and told her I was available on certain days when I was not. I was afraid to tell her that I would have to switch some days around but when I did tell her she completely understood and everything worked out well.

I also succeeded at working diligently. This week I was supposed to hyperlink web pages for a web site for two hours. It took longer than expected though because I had to work through a couple mistakes that I had made with the links not saving. I knew that this was my fault and so I stayed later and spent more time than I was supposed to, to ensure that I linked all of the websites properly.

However, I need to work on being more honest when I need help. When linking the webpages I previously mentioned, I spent too long trying to figure out why it wouldn't work when I should have just asked for help. I spent too long trying to figure it out and although I eventually did, I wasted too much time.

  1. You seem to be very diligent and even when you make mistakes, you are ready to fix them! Being honest is harder then you think when trying to get things done on your own, but now you know how to deal with that type of situation the next time one comes around!

  3. It seems like your doing great! I also finalized my schedule and myself not asking for help when I need to. I know we can both do it! Hope you have a good week!

  4. Keep up the diligent work! That's a really good skill to have, even if you make mistakes. By making the mistakes, you were able to show your dedication in staying extra to fix these mistakes. Plus, everyone makes mistakes. Don't worry about it too much. :)
