Hey Everyone,
I believe I worked best on communication this week. I finalized a schedule with my supervisor and her coworkers that I will also be working with. It took a while to work with all of our schedules, but we made it work! I learned that this is a big part of working as a team and in an office. My supervisor scheduling was one of their biggest problems as a team, especially in the summer because of others taking time off. She also said they work together to create the calendar to make sure scheduling works out for the entire department.
I believe I had to be diligent. I have been unable to really get the "fun part" (as my supervisor put it) of my internship. I have been filing flyers, brochures, and handouts for two days, as well as checking the date they were last updated. I then had to look the sheets up in an online archive and find if there were newer versions. Some had completely different titles, while others just had an added paragraph. Once we order new copies, I will have to organize them so they are ready when we need them for presentations and events. I learned how much goes into preparing for an event or presentation, and how often medical information needs to be updated -- with so many studies being done, updates can be made as often as every few months and we are responsible for keeping up to date when passing out the information to patients and employees.
One thing I need to work on is being on time. There are times where I get to work well in advance, and there are others where I get there right on time. I should be there around five to ten minutes before I actually start to get ready. This can sometimes be difficult when I come from work, because I am tight on time or need to take time to change into more professional clothing. I am going to work on arriving before my start time by at least five minutes and will notify my supervisor if I am going to be late.
Good job Caroline! You seem like a hard worker!
ReplyDeleteWow, you have done good work! I feel your struggle with punctuality. I am the same as you. But for me I have to at least be 10 to 20 minutes before.
